hi guys/girls i got an acer aspire 1694wlmi laptop in march of last year (from laptopsdirect.co.uk) and was very happy with it at first until recently it started switching itself while playing games which is very annoying,as it was still under warrenty ive sent it back to acer after they looked at it they sent me an invoice for £130 saying that it had been dropped and needed a new case and also a hard drive and an amp.i rang them to say that i have never dropped it and it must of been done by the courier or them but they are not interest in any shape or form as i have no choice but to pay as it will come back worst than when i sent it,as soon as i got it back it was doing the same thing if anyone can put any suggestions my way or let me know if they have had any hassle with acer.shows how good they are at repairs

Sounds rather slimy of Acer. If the 130 pound quote is more than what a repair man at a local computer shop can repair it for, then go with your local handyman. At least you won't have to wait.

I would anyway try calling Acer again and telling the "manager-on-duty" about your issue, and how they made up a story about your notebook. You will have to wait on hold for about and hour, so use a speakerphone.
