Hi there i have a strange issue.
i got a Brand new Acer Aspire 3054 wxmi

    Proc: 1.8GHz Sep 3500+
    Win Vista Home Basic
    512 Ram ddr2
    80GB
    DVD writerATI Radeon 1100 Xpress
    WIFI
    Soundblaster Pro

Last night i put in a Sandisk Cruzer 2gb mini usb stick
My pc reconised it the 1st time and i was able to set the Readyboost.
Before turning the pc off for the night i clicked on saftely remove usb.

And after doing that the screen turned off but the hard light was stiill on and goin and the power button.

Waited about 2 min and then forced shut down (by holding power button)

Now when i boot up pc the Sandisk Cruzer 2gb mini usb stick is not appearing in my computer. It appears in device manager and windows does reconise the hardware.

Whn i disconnect the usb via safely remove hardware its does the same thing again with screen turning oo (almost like hibernation)

Can someone please shed some light or help get this resolved !!!!

    Cheers
    Gav

This maybe a little off topic here but vista really needs more that 512mb of ram to be used comfortably.

Readyboost IMO is a waste of time, you could be using that 2gb USB stick for something else. You should get more ram. Remember ram is always going to be more efficient and far faster than any USB device and will not give you the problems which you are experiencing right now.

DDR2 ram for notebooks is rather cheap right now as the market is in a slump so I would get more ram before I bother trying to use any readyboost devices.
