I was looking at the service manual for the 3680/5570/5580 and it seems they share a lot of the same parts. I was wondering about the possibility of swapping the 3680 lcd bezel for the 5580 lcd bezel with the orbicam.... The specs seem similar and it looks to me like they share the same parts. I am wondering if anyone has tried to do this or has any information that would help me.

I found a 5580 lcd bezel with orbicam for $30. Just thought I would ask before giving up the $.

I'm afraid their are some subtle differences. As memory recollects, the main difference is that the orbicam connector on the mainboard of the 3680 is missing making it very difficult to connect without some serious soldering (which may not work, I haven't tried it). Hope this helps

Well there are versions of 3680 coming with the Orbicam (a 0.3 MP Bison) so i think that the webcam connector is present in the motherboard. It could help checking the 3680 service manual.

It could do. As there are several mainboards for that model, some with the connector and some without, the simplest thing would be to take off the middle cover (with the power button on it) and look for it (4 or 6 pin plug can never remenber which). It should be fairly close to where the lcd cable connects to the board. If its not there then i'm fairly sure that the solder points are (shown by a white box where the plug should be). Hope this helps
