I currently have a 250 gb hard drive in my acer but I'm eying this 1tb hard drive but it is a 3.5 in Sata, I know that the hard drive in this is a sata but I want to know is it the Note book 2.5" hard drive or the 3.5" hard drive? I would like to know before laying down 100-200 bucks on a hard drive for this thing.

There has never been a 3.5" hard drive for notebooks in the last decade.

Your best bet on capacity is either a 500GB or the 640GB? one from Seagate.
The new 750GB and 1TB from WD won't fit in your laptop despite it being a 2.5" drive (Several mm too thick).
