    hey everyone,

so i got my new acer aspire 5562wxmi and i was wondering if its just me
or is the 100% battery life equals to about 2h and 40minutes of time?

also, im a bit unsure of how to treat the battery to make it live longer
    without losing wear...
im currently working like this: starting from 100% i use it till about 20%,
then i re-charge it to 100% (full) and then i keep it in my apartment for
the whole day (for about 24-30 hours) until i use it later the same way.
    is this ok?

    thanks.

I can only manage 2hours tops.. How did you get 2 hours 40mins? Can you tell me your settings?

Acer 5562 - Maximum Battery Life setting - 2 hours.

I also got about 2hrs from it on the Word Processing scheme (not maximum performance). I think you could make this 2:30 if you set the CPU speed to 1Ghz (Min) and you didn't invoke the second core often (simply word processing or reading websites).

I have just had to send mine for repair due to what seems to be memory issues. Firstly the FSB is strange, reporting as 533Mhz instead of the quoted 667Mhz. Secondly it failed memtest86+ really badly (4,000+ errors in 3 minutes!). If either of you 5562 owners have time could you do a huge favour and run memtest86+ on your machines and tell me if you get errors. From what I have read you shouldn't get any but with a new architecture you never know whether it is simply an unsupported chipset. The URL is:

    http://www.memtest.org/

    Thanks!

umm not exactly sure but definitely im working with cpu frequency-
this is the default in windows i think. but in any way you can adjust it
    with acer's empowereing program.

plus, i turn off wifi and bt when i dont need it.
and i work with about 1-3 levels above the minimum for the screen brightness. so that probably gains you about 30 minutes more worth of time.

this is so annoying about the battery though... 2 hours is nothing.
    3-4h is more like it.

i know there are 9 cell batteries for this laptop.
has anyone tried them? does anyone know whats their time limit?

    thanks.

After playing around with the powermanagement tool, i can get a little over 2 hours.. I guess, there are too many background stuff running on my pc..

charles- i have no problem with my memory yet, but i have not tested with memtest, coz i dont have any cds to burn it to..

There is actually a acers own custom software to change different power profiles. Please download the same drom Acers global website based on your model. This would help you to stretch you battery life.

    Thanks,
