undecided about two acer travelmate laptops..
I,m goin for either the travelmate 5623WSMi at £575 or the travelmate 5624WSMI at £659
the 5623 has the intel cetrino duo t5500 1.66Ghz
the 5624 has the intel cetrino duo t5600 1.83Ghz
both are exact same specs apart from the cpu ..

so is it worth paying that extra 85quid just for a slightly higher cpu or wont it notice much if any differance ?

For basic stuff don't bother as you won't notice the difference. Use that extra money to get more ram or a faster hard drive and you will notice a much bigger improvement than 160MHz.

But if you're a power user, like heavy encoding/gaming, then you might wanna get the faster processor.

thanks for advice.. they already come with 2gb ddrII of ram, 160gb HD, Nvidia go7300.. both machines are exact apart from cpu speed..
i mainly use the odd webdesign software for my sites and view satelite tv thru a usb box and also use linux & xp (not vista) but apart from that not into gaming or encoding or any video editing..
So gona save the £80 and take the missis out instead :)

    thanx

Then save yourself the money and go for the slower processor. It is more than enough for what you do.

Yes, I also agree with adinu. That difference is certainly not worth £80
