    I just received a new 5672 from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115246

As soon as I reformatted, I installed the drivers for chipset, ethernet, omega, and then finally the newest HD realtek driver (found on realtek's website).

Even though the codecs are installed, under the Sound and Audio Devices control panel, it still shows as "No Audio Devices installed"

Any ideas? I've searched and googled everywhere, couldn't find a thing

I just tried it and the drivers installed, but still no Audio device detected.

In fact, under the Windows Device Manager, I don't even have an audio device showing up! What the heck?

I remember having a similar problem at one point .. I believe it was due to a conflict with the modem drivers .. Try uninstalling those first.

    Cheers.

If it helps though, in my device manager I notice a PCI Device under "System Devices" that has a yellow exclamation next to it... could this be the sound card?

the best thing I can suggest is to link the .inf files for the audio drivers in the device manager. I HATE installing drivers with an .exe instead of an .inf it causes problems and bloat (HP anyone?)

    Try linking the .inf instead

Yes, I believe thats the sound card. I remember having this exact problem before .. Installing the UAA Bus Drivers fixed everything for me. Make sure you uninstall any sound card driver and start over from scratch (following instructions in my thread).

Try using these drivers : http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/fo....com&siteid=7117&words=all&keywords=&areaid=2

    Cheers.

Thanks so much guys, I finally got it working!! In the end it was a combo of both of what you said.

    1. install the UAA Bus drivers
    2. install the newest Realtek HD audio driver (R1.47 as of now)
    3. After installation, go to device manager and update driver for the PCI device. Choose to browse for the driver in C:\Program Files\Realtek\InstallShield
