I'm considering getting a 5672, but have a few concerns. I've heard that the build quality isn't the best, and that it gest rather hot while playing games. I'd like to hear from some people who have it, what do you guys think of it? Is the build quality something to be concerned about?

i dont have it but im going to get one
the heating can be solved by coolers
and im not going to worry about the build quality -
I've had mine about a month now. Build quality is fine, nothing too flimsy or feeling like it would break easily. It feels very solid with the dual-hinges.
It does get hot, but so do a lot of other notebooks. You'll probably notice the heat the most on the touchpad. People complain about the exhaust on the right side where you might have your mouse, but I think that if you have your mouse up that far that your face is about a foot from the screen anyways, so....
I use the Coolermaster notebook cooler from Newegg which is awesome. They didn't have the 15" wide version so got the smaller which works fine. Only thing is that it scratches the front a little bit. Might be better to put some padding in there.
Again, the build quality is fine - I've had IBM's, Dells, Toshibas, HP, Compaq and NEC laptops and this is as good as any, with the exception of the keyboard on the IBM's. -
It has some annoying ergonomics like the cooling vent on the right side that blows hot air on your hand if you use a mouse- also, the vga out is on the rt side instead of the rear which is awkward when you are using an external monitor and a mouse. No usb ports on the back either. They are all on the sides. The audio ports on the front is good if you use headphones, bad if you are using the laptop for presentations. I personally don't like the shiny screen, but that is just me. I bought mine online, so I never saw it in person til it arrived. If I was doing it over, I would probably get something different because of the strange ergonomics.

The Acer5672 at buy.com was my choice after well over 20hrs of research online... http://www.buy.coml $1044 (w/$15 off coupon)
I chose 7-9 day free shipping, it arrived in 2 days. 15.4" screen was wide, bright & clearly visible from all angles. Intel Duo Core T2300 (1.666Ghz) & 1Gb RAM (2x512Mb @ 533Mhz), 100Gb 5400rpm hard drive... 802.11 a/b/g, blue tooth, USB 2.0, firewire, DVI output, DVD dual layer +RW, ATI x1400 128Mb GPU and touchpad with programmable 4-button scroll-pad & 4 programmable hotspots.
After spending ridiculous hours and late nights of shopping & research, I'm quite confident that's the best deal for under $1300 (my budget). I plan to upgrade the drive to a 7200rpm & the RAM to 2Gb 666Mhz.
I do agree that it gets hot around the touchpad, primarily b/c the hard drive is directly underneath it. I play Battlefield 2 on it fine, and while it does get a bit hot... I do agree that nearly all new laptops have their hotspots.
Plus, the touchpad has the programmable 4-way scroller which basically makes the touchpad a 6-button touchpad! And that's not counting the 4-programmable spots in the corners. The features are seem to be freakin endless.
