It seems there is a piece of rubber under the sata connection so the samsung ssd drive wont stay connected. Is there a fix for this? if I remove the piece of rubber would it break the laptop?

    Thanks

Do you have a pic you can post up of the sata connector/rubber part? Would be easier to help if we could see it.

I had a 5750 and had to mod it slightly to get my ssd to fit, however yours sounds a bit different to mine- I had to shave some plastic legs slighty and didn't have a piece of rubber.

you can see the connector than right under is the rubber. I wonder if I removed it if its going to break anything? Its not like I throw the laptop around.

If it is the bit I circled in red, then I would personally just peel it off so your new ssd fits, looks like its just a bit of cushioning against shock etc or to line up your standard hdd to the sata connector.

If you peel it off carefully and keep it aside you could always stick it back in if you ever removed your ssd.

That's not it, its right next to it. There is the sata connection and right under that connection is a piece of rubber. Its a shame if I could get a ssd to work it would be perfect for me.

I would try and carefully remove it if you can, it should just be stuck on and is probably there to support the standard hhd. Your ssd wont need this as it's casing is physically larger.

Im so happy with it and it seems to have dramatically extended the battery life compared to the stock drive. Im 5 hrs in and still got 31 percent left.
