i installed xp with drivers and everything works perfect, except i have no wired lan card.

ive never even seen this before, the card doesnt even show up as a hardware.
any ideas? this is a new computer, and i didnt even try vista, but ill assume everything is in working order.

you mean force like install it anyway? yes nothing works, seems like vista doesnt recognize it either, it might just be a faulty motherboard or something

pisses me off that i bought a broken computer but i have no other explanation for it.

    aggrevating

i'm running XP on my ASPIRE 5315 so i doubt my screenshot would help much..

your best bet may be to contact ACER and describe the problem... they are going to want you to return the PC for service,,, but the fact that neither XP or vista detects the WIRED NETWORK INTERFACE tells me you may have a motherboard issue..

    wish i could help more

i can tell you that in XP my network adapters showed up under OTHER DEVICES as soon as XP finished loading... and with correct drivers installed they show up in the NETWORKING section of device manager

Check device manager under vista next time, sounds like the LAN chipset is not supported natively.
