    acer 6920 disk drive

    my disc drive has stopped working! any disc i put in there (dvd, bluray, cd-rom), nothing works. i dont know what to do?

    Now THIS sounds like a hardware issue.
    Still, just to be safe, do a System Restore back to a point where it was working.
    If it still doesn't, get that thing repaired!

    The drive is called: Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500A ATA Device
    and when i go to the device manager, it says in the properties:

    Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

    And so you click on "check for solutions" and of course this does nothing...
    and clicking on "update drivers" it says that the driver is up to date.
    i have also tried uninstalling the drivers.

    nevermind, i fixed it, by going into the registry. i feel like a genious!
