    Hi everyone

Can someone tell me if a cpu temp of 70C is normal for a laptop runing at 100% idle but maximum cpu speed?

Also where can I get a spare battery?

    Regards

    Ash

70C seems a bit high for a processor. Which processor is it?

Thats quite high for that processor. If it isn't doing anything, and simply idling, it shouldn't run that hot. Does the fan come on at all?

I'm currently in Germany and the the ambient temp is 36C. If I turn the cpu to lowest then the temp is 53C (with the base tilted to allow more airflow). If I turn the cpu to maximum then the temp is 70C. Also the fan does turn on and is currently spinning.

With an ambient temperature of 36, i would be lead to think that's causing the temperature. try to leave it on the lowest or medium setting, or you could try to lower the ambient temp, although this may be difficult.

Mine idles at about 53C and goes to about 65C when on full load. I always have the CPU speed at max.

    G33,

U can dl Notebook Hardware Control (NHC) utility at http://www.pbus-167.com and it can show your CPU temp along with others.

Mine idles at about 55C but hits as high as 70C running Max playing games.

most of the time im plugged in. when using the NHC should i set my harddisk advanced power management to max performance 254 or not? assuming that if theres more noise and heat it should be ok?

    thx
