    acer 9300-5317 memory upgrade

    i wanted to upgrade my memory to 3 gb .
    it has built-in two pairs of memory slot and both has 512 mb of ram .
    is it necessary to put the same size of memory in both of the slots ?

    No it is not. You can have different sizes, but they will not run in dual channel mode which offers a slight performance increase.
