Im very tempted to get this laptop and as a couple of people have mentioned in another thread that they have 1 i thought i would start a new topic about it.

Do you think its worth getting?

I'll mainly be using it to take it to university and doing work so battery life is fairly important but i would like to be able to play some games as well.

    Is it noisy at all?

Any help is very much appreciated and if anyone could recommend a simmillar spec laptop that would be helpful also.

    Thanks [ :)]

    Good idea.

I have only had one for a few days. I did quite a lot of research, and it certainly appears very good value. In the uk I got it from AcerNotebooks for £929 http://www.acernotebooks.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_16801690_Laptop/prod.asp.

I haven't got to the point yet that I can unequivocally recommend it but I can't , better buy either.

Quality is good, screen is good, as is the keyboard. I'm not sure about the reception on the Intel wireless chip, but am clear that is centrino issue (see other thread)

The screen on the acer is good... on the sony it is really stunning, but on balance, the acer is the beter machine.

    Thanks for the help.

Has anyone tried running any recent games on it to see what the graphics are like?

I won't be playing lots of games on it but i would like to know if it can cope with them.
