I have an aspire 2010 that for some reason bios recognizes the harddrive but will not let me install windows to the drive. I get a non-emulation booting error. I tried three different hard drives, but no go. Is it possible that there is some kind of partition that has to be on the drive first. Or does it have to be fat 32. I am installing with an oem windows cd.
    I am at a lost
    Any help would be great.

Are you getting the non-emulation booting error when you're attempting to boot off the OEM Windows CD?

That just likely means your OEM Windows CD wasn't burned correctly or it's faulty now. Try booting off of another bootable CD, like a Linux LiveCD or something to make sure it's just your Windows CD that's gone awry.

No I have three different oem cds, so I know it isn't a bad cd.
