i believe my sata controller to be broken, i replaced the drive with a confirmed working sata drive and it doesn't detect it, even in bios.

so at the moment im booting from an xp installed on a usb key, and it sucks.. well it wouldn't suck if i could get wifi working on it.

so the question i have is can i boot from an esata notebook adaptor card?
.... are there any other options?

i'm going to try a vista live cd next
