hello, been trying to use skype but my friends keep complaining about the static that is coming from me. I plug in my headset into the two ports and it's just a constant static noise that is really bad.

it's not the headset since if i plug it into my desktop it goes away right away. any help or fix on this problem would be awesome.

microphone default is 2- high definition audio device. boost is at 10, if i turn it down nobody hears me at all. any help with this problem would be awesome.

Also on a side note, when i'm playing team fortress 2, starcraft 2 etc it would freeze for a few seconds. I downloaded quiet HDD but i am still freezing once in a while. any fix on this would also be helpful. ty

Try updating to the most recent audio drivers from Realtek.

    What HDD are you using?

Did you disable APM in QuietHDD and set it to run at start-up?

well i went into misc settings and uncheck "enable APM Control" don't know if that is the one, or was i suppose to right click on the icon and disable HDD APM now. and i do not see any options with starting it up on startup.

one more thing, the realtek driver helped, but the problem with skype is that people are saying i'm soo soft and if i try to mic boost it makes it very bad :/

You have to manually add QuietHDD to startup and use the other option "disable APM"- not the one you've used.

well quiet hdd is working ty for that.

but when i install the realtek the static goes away but people say that i am muffled as i am underwater.

i uninstalled it and let windows do the audio update on itself. it's better but the static is back. any ideas at all?

think the static is a hardware problem?
