    acer aspire 5742 no display problem

    i have a acer aspire 5742 the screen had been smashed but the backlight worked, i have changed with a new screen, the backlight works on the new one but has no display, but when i plug in a external monitor i have full display.

    any ideas on how to fix this?

    The only thing I can think of is the smashed screen somehow messed up the video circuit (shorted out) on the motherboard.
    I hope I am wrong.
    You're sure your connections are all good?
