    Well its all in the title really! occasionally my acer 5920 - beeps!
    pls reassure me that its nothing!!!

    Make sure your system not running too hot.I guess it's overheating alarm ! I got beep when my system temp goes to throttle level :)

    updating your bios might change the on/off points of your fan,, resulting in a more efficent cooling profile..

    just a thought

    thank you all. should i stop using it when it beeps? i don't use it for games but often spend a long time surfing the www or watching flvs.

    Well yeah..Try to cool it down. Use The Cooling Guide and The Undervolting Guide. It's a start.

    Watching movies wont hurt your notebook.Make sure not to keep & work on bed.Bottom of your notebook have air intake fans.Do not cover that intake area

    grab a tea tray from the kitchen.it works or buy/make a cooling pad :D

    so you mean just elevate it a bit? - how would you make a 'cooling pad'?

    with the warm weather i don't mind a standard fan blowing on me too and that seemed to help.

    buy two erasers & put them under the rear rubber pads of your notebook :D
