It probably isn't possible, because the motherboard that are generally used in notebooks are for that specific notebook. Some notebopoks do share a particular motherboard, but it would take a while and a lot of research to find which, ia ny, would be suported in your notebook. What I suggest, is that look for an EEPROM for your current motherbaord. The best place to look may be ebay or ask Acer for one. It should be much cheaper than a new motherboard, and it should fix your problem. Hope this helps.

    hi zero,
    thanks for the reply,
i went down that route first but acer wont supply just a chip.
they told me some had the boot block recovery and some didnt and there was no way to tell but try it, mine dosent. so if i cant recover or get a chip then its a new mobo. well ive been loking for a second hand one on ebay.
    regards

Any idea if the chip is soldered on? if not you can ship it or buy from one of the bios replacement companies. Call biosmann or go to their site www.biosman.com
