hi everyone.im new to this forum.i was searching for some information on my acer when i run across this forum.i was on my laptop wednesday night and all of a sudden it froze up.my cursor wouldnt move and my keyboard quit working.i was going to send it back to acer but of course my warranty expired a month and 2 days when this happened.before the system boots up i can press the f2 key to go into the bios and it works there.but when windows boots no keyboard and no touchpad.also windows is slow about booting.so i thought maybe the harddrive.i had another known good drive i put that in and loaded windows onto it same thing.well i got to thinking maybe the fan is clogged or something.i took the thing apart used compressed air to clean the board and everything because i was thinking maybe its a heat issue.no luck there.i just felt the side of the laptop and the fan is running the air coming out doesnt seen to be all that hot.strange thing i cant get windows to load on this but a linux systen loads just fine.im trying to put suse 10.2.could this be the motherboard going out or could it be something simple im just overlooking?i was thinking of somehow making the fan where it runs all of the time but i dont know how to do that.i didnt see anything in the bios to do that.i was reading a thread on here where a person didnt have a keyboard or touchpad with the battery in.im trying that too.if anyone else that looks at this could give me some suggestions besides taking it out to the car and running over it lol i would really appreciate the help.thanks in advance.

got to be the battery.i have let this thing sit here and run for the last 3 hours i guess and it never froze up.shut it down, put the battery back in restart and right off the bat it freezes up never fully loads windows.keyboard or anything doesnt work.pull the battery out it finishes loading up and doesnt freeze.strange.
