    so, heres the story.

i got this acer aspire one mini laptop for christmas, and i am just going to say right now that i am competely stupid.

what i did, was i downloaded the Windows 7 Beta Testing thing, and it completely overwrote my Windows XP, and now i have no operating system, i do have a reformat disk, but the acer aspire one has no cd/dvd drive!

i tryed going into the BIOS to try and see if i can boot from my flash drive, but guess what? the BIOS is asking me for a password, i never even set a password.

what can i do? i need this computer for school.

Locate / buy / borrow an external CD-Rom drive or create a bootable flash CD with windows XP (the usb version is harder to do).

This will allow you to run the installation media on the pc again.

    Hello apajjl3,
Why don't you get in touch with Microsoft support. You have a legit copy of XP, and you tried to use their beta software. What ever reason you did not like it, should not matter.
If it wiped out you ability to restore your O/S that is unacceptable
Microsoft should help you return you computer to the licensed version of their operating system that you payed for........

Microsoft isn't going to do squat except direct him to Acer who has included a restore disc, but he has to get a DVD rom or learn how to boot to a USB Flash device.
