Tried other Forums but had no success, so i'm hoping someone from here can help.

    Copied from other board.

    Acer aspire one d250
1 gig of ram, 160GB Hard Drive
    intel gma 945 graphics.
    windows xp home.

On start up as soon as you first press the power button, there is no display no life at all on the laptop's screen. No POST screen or Windows loading screen. Now after windows have loaded the display appears back on the laptop.
If i hooked up an external monitor and do a cold start i can see everything working the way it should on the external monitor and then as the windows have finished loaded the image switches back to the laptop screen.
It seems like the bios is using the vga out as the primary video until widows drivers have take over and switch back to the laptops screen. The same happens when the external monitor is hooked up and when it isn't.
There is no option in the bios to change the default screen.
I tried everything i could think of.
FN+F5 key dose nothing until windows have loaded
CTRL + ALT + F1 or F3 (alternative keys for changing the display)
Did a full system recovery(format and reinstalled windows)
Flashed and updated the Bios, From 1.25 to 1.27
removed and reinstalled ram, battery, to draining complete power from the laptop.
2 display drivers show up. I tried removing and disabling them one at a time.
    Still no change.

No power, no lights, no display, no nothing on the laptops screen until windows have loaded. After windows have loaded everything works perfect, except when resuming from hibernation, the screen that says resuming from hibernation do not display because the bios is using the vga out as the mains.
After a few seconds the screen lights up and continues to resume as it should.

The netbook has not been dropped one or had any damage what so ever.

    Any ideas???
If needs anymore information please feel free to ask.
Loves the lil pc, just that this lil problem is a pain in the >>>.

my netbook came with bios 1.25 also, but i had this problem with that bios so i flashed to the latest version 1.27 hoping it would fix this little problem but it didn't.

i have no problem booting. Everything works as it should on the net book becides from as soon as you press the power on button till the twin acer splash screen right before the desktop, the netbook display is turned of. Not just the backlight the works of it. during boot up The screen is black. if i hooked up an external monitor everything is displayed on that.

it seems like the bios is using the vga out instead of the netbooks screen, and as soon as windows loads it drivers the display switches.

i have no problem in booting, or the windows operating system.
even if i removed the harddrive from the netbook i still haves the same problem.

It can ony be a bios screen or MB problem -

Bios - anything can happen but you flashed it without result so only BIOS HW left
Screen - Maybe the screen is reporting a native resolution the bios graphics cannot work with
MB - some problem between the BIOS and the graphics system ?

TBH this is the sort of thing that you return to factory config, send in under warramty and get a new MB for. Even if we could say "it is definitely the BIOS chip" what are you going to do then ?
