Seeing it on video doesn't do justice to how much of a monster this thing is in person. It's truly an exercise in excess.

 

Are you allowed to say howmany of these you sold? Do buyers add any XoiticPc extras?

 

I don't have numbers, but we sold out our initial allocation and have more on the way to fulfill existing orders. I get the impression that Acer didn't realize how popular these would be. A couple went out stock, but I saw one where we put in like 10TB worth of SSDs.

 

I'm fascinated to know if Acer partnered with any retailers in the UK to demo it in-store. Morbidly curious to see it in person

 

I'm looking at making an XoticPC purchase tanner, are any discounts available currently?

 

Only demos I know of were at conventions / trade shows, at least in the US. I only got to see it because we did a review in-house.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pushed more resources towards marketing and showcase them in target countries from the demand it's been garnering. Just has this gargantuan reputation, really have to see it to believe it (pun intended)!

 

Agreed, Just looking at the size of the display seems to wow the general population. Could probably pick up plenty of orders if they managed to get it into a B&M for people to look at.

 

Absolutely, luxury items sell. Unlike comparable electronics like the Vertu phones, the predator has the specs to justify (I'n using this word liberally) the price.

 

300 units produced for sale.

 

Only thing I'd change is that for that price they could probably justify putting a 7700K in it.

It's funny to me how some people see no problem with someone else's decision to buy a car being based on the fact that while they will never take it to Nürburgring, if they did it would beat that guy's car from up the street by at least .05 seconds. Then they turn around and talk about how all other luxury purchases are impractical. That's almost the point. Being able to say you can afford to spend increasing amounts of money for decreasing returns with no problem.

 

All in all, boils down to bragging rights.

 

Exactly. Once you hit a certain performance level you're either increasing it for giggles, for the challenge, or to brag that you have better skills or more money. Who am I to tell people not to do that?

 

And I found out we sold out of those too. Not sure if they're going to be making more, but as popular as they turned out to be I think we could have sold more if more existed.

 

What's the failure rate been? There was concern over the CPU + 2 GPU's are soldered onto the main board.

Please let us know if any dead ones show up for RMA

 

Haven't seen any tickets for them that I'm aware of, but I'd imagine the failure rate is going to seem skewed either way because of the small sample size.
