i just bought this brand new acer aspire laptop and i literally just got it today.
all is good until i noticed the power plug seems a little loose im wondering if i should worry about this.i mean i havent had any power problems since i unpacked it i just noticed when i plugged the plug into the power inlet in the laptop that it was alittle loose, loose like a tiny bit wobbly but the plug itself is a tight fit into the inlet itself

my laptop is a acer aspire 5551-2013

    thanks in advance

If by loose, you mean that the plug is vague when you are plugging it in but once it is plugged, it is solid, that is just Acer's plugs these days.

The power fitting should not be wobbly once it is plugged in. Can you take the unit back for an exchange?

Umm i think he means the actual socket the power cord plugs into. If u move the power plug ( the side plugged into the laptop up and down) it is a bit loose. The actual fitting of the plug into the socket is tight.

i called acer technical support today and according to them its normal but they also said if i have a problem with it they'll fix it cuz its under warranty, so ill hang onto it for awhile and see what happens.cuz im not having any issues with it charging, and i dont smell anything out of the ordinary.

but what do you guys think about what the technical support guy said from acers support dept.?
