    acer power problems

    hi there i am hoping some1 can help me i have an acer 5290 and the problem is that when i plug the charger into the laptop the led on the charger goes off and the batterery wont charge, then i took the battery out and turned off then back on the charger and plugged it into the laptop with out the battery and the same thing happened!
    could some 1 tell me what it could be before i leave it into a computer repair place and get ripped off?

    Nothing- it looks like a case for a service centre. From the looks of it there's a problem with the power circuit on the mobo however there's a remote chance that the PSU (charger) is bad so the last thing to do before contacting Acer is to test the notebook with another PSU (with matching voltage and current parameters) Acer notebooks are very popular and these PSUs are often common for many models so there's a chance you know someone who has a charger you need.
