Do different Acers have different screens? I know that the ferrari 4005 and 8100/8000 have higher resolution screens but wat about all the other models. I was looking at an demo (with spiderman 2 on) and the screen looked really bad. It was one of the celeron models with glossy screen. I checked the website and it wasnt very detailed about the screens. My old notebook was a compaq R3014ca and the screen was non-glossy but it was beautiful with very good side viewing angles. If it didnt fail on us multiple times we wouldnt have sold it. The sceen is very important to us since the notebook doubles up as TV/DVD player, with 2-3 ppl watching we need a bit better viewing angle. So can anyone tell me are there any models (with in acer) with better screens? I've read some reviews of acer notebooks and it seems the screens are not wat they praised for. From wat I saw at the stores it does look ugly (compared to my compaq)

I've heard that Fujitsu screens have great viewing angles, so try and check those out.
And Acer doesn't have the best screens, I often find them too glossy and too much glare, from the model's I've seen. And the 4005/8100 series don't have glossy screens right? Aren't they matte? -
Ya the acer's with wsxga+ dont have glossy screens. I don't mind the glossy screens really but it seems like they put it there to mask the crappyness of their screens. But they do have good prices so im trying to find one with a good screen. Does the ferrari 4002 have a good screen? None of the stores I went to had it on display. The tm4402 and ferrari 4002 are about $250 cdn apart and im willing to pay it if the screen is better.

Nobody has WSXGA+ screens that are glossy. I think HP was offering one a while back but it got dropped. There are some WUXGA+ glossy screens from Sony, Toshiba and Dell, but they are 17" screens.
