    Hi,

    I wanted to upgrade my acer timelinex 4820tg with i7-620m, 4g ddr3 1333mhz ram (2x2gb)
    after doing some reasearch and reading the reviews here, I decided to buy kingston valueram below.
    Kingston website doesnt list 4820tg unfortunately but there is 4830tg which supposed to have similar component.
    And it matches with ram below. I order 2 sticks and replaced with my original 2gb sticks. after starting and going into bios, it shows that ram is 8gb and it is recognized.
    But while windows is loading, it will give a blue screen with the message "kernel_security_check_failure".

    I am running window 10 as OS. So question is, is it OS issue? or those Kingston rams are just not suitable for Acer 4820tg. When i place my original rams back, Windows 10 loads without any problem.

    thank you very much for your suggestions

    Check if the RAM is OK. It might simply be faulty.

    I installed memorytest on a USB stick and tried to run a test but after showing 25% is loaded, it will restart the pc. I tried using only 1 stick at a time. Also didnt work. Does it sound faulty ram? I mean how can i check it else?

    It does seem like it's faulty. If it was simply incompatible it wouldn't even start with it (it would either get stuck on POST or beep).
    There is an off-chance that it's fine overall but for some reason does not work with your particular laptop but as it is, it looks more like faulty RAM.

    What happens if you mix RAM sticks - one old and one new?

    Also make sure you have the latest BIOS.

    Hey, got the same problem, but with the 3820TG version.

    Which chipset does your notebook feature?
    If it is still the HM-55, then that ram you posted won't work because of its configuration.
    One block consists of 512MB which cannot be read by the chipset, only 256MB blocks.

    @EAPOCS Yes, it's HM55 - thanks for that info - I didn't know that it wouldn't read 512MB blocks.
