So here I am ordering my acer travelmate 8204wlmi, when I read that a new version, the 8205 has just been released. It seems to me the two are the exact same save the T2500 verses the T2600 core duo processor. I was going to order the 8204wlmi for $1,965 from PC nation, for about 200 more the 8205 is being sold, my question is, is the T2600 worth the extra 200 bucks? I know its subjective, but I'm looking for some opinions I guess. To be honest, I would have much rather they added a new model with a 7,200 RPM hard drive instead of the updated processor...now that'd be a nobrainer.

i wouldnt bother to be honest, i was about to get a macbook pro with the T2600, the same ati x1600 and a 7200rpm drive but worked out a few hundred pounds more, also on the macbook pro the x1600 is underclocked. i would recommend to get the 8204 and change the 5400 seagate for a Hitachi Travelstar 7k100 (7200rpm), u might be sacrifcing 20gb of space but in the end its highly rated and the fastest notebook drive u can buy with minimal difference in power drain, noise or heat. What gets me is that ive checked on pricing and the seagate 5400.2 drive that comes in the 8204 is pretty much the same price as the HItachi (give or take upto 10 quid)! If u do go this route lemme know then u can teach me how to change my hard drive!!!

I advise against it. The 2600 is so similar to the 2500 it's not worth $200. Then again my dad always says to get the most you can afford so if you're rich go for it.

Also does anyone know when the Acer Travelmate 8205wlmi will be coming out in the U.S.? It seems to only be out in Canada at the moment.

As of now, new and at a reputable store, I'd say so.
