    Hi,
as mentioned in another post I am considering buying an acer 5500.

If you have a similar notebook I have a few questions for you:

What's the mean battery life with a 6cell batt? And with an 8cell?
How do you like the screen? (Is it clear? can you look at it from a wide angle? is it good to work a lot, watch dvds?)
    Would you reccomend it?

    Hope you can help me,

    Emme

Hi there! I'm a pround owner of an Aspire 5500 series. I've owned it for 5 months and it's been great! The X700 is a great GPU even thought its only 64MB but with the new catalyst you'll get a total of 128+hypermemory. I can run AOE3 at all high settings at 1280X800 resolution no prob. The only downside maybe is the 4200 rpm hard drive but I plan on upgrading to a larger drive so no problem there. As for the CrystalBrite screen I enjoy it very much. The reflections are not really that bad and it makes the colors a lot more vibrant, but then again its more of a personal preference. Other than that I think it's a great machine in price and value. Hope it helps you coming to our decesion a little easier!:centrino: Oh and about the weight don't worry it's not really that heavy at all.

Alpha... im just wondering: does 5500 gets really hot? And does the supplied 6 cell battery stick out?

What about build quality... any good?

And... can you just write a review for it... a lot of people are interested in this laptop

    Edit:
Oh... where and how much did the laptop cost you?
