Ok,so undervolting -.-..

ummm, will this void my warrenty it says no in his guide but i want to be extra sure....anyhow....is this safe...like no damages to my laptop? id asked in his thread but those are various laptop owners i asked here so i get answers from fellow 6920g owners.
also, is CPU overheat is causeing lag in some games..right now its stressed with orthos...and its at like 63c...at 5 minutes...im usually get 58c then i get laggy @_@, so any comments on that?

1. No - it's a software tweak, and easily reversible.
2. The worst it can do to your system is corrupt your data...that's what it did to me once when I forgot to stress test. (remember kiddies - backup always!) Most people just get BSODs if they push it too far. Baby-steps.
3. I know, it's strange. I'm beginning to think it's a combination of CPU and GPU heat that causes a thermal trip somewhere ELSE in the notebook, which triggers the CPU downclock. Just a theory, though. -
haha thanks bro =)...now overclocking that VOIDS YOUR WARRENTY @[email protected] i removed that i reformated my pc(use offical drivers now...they work better too!)...would acer ever find that out if i sent my lappy(hopefully i never will) to them if it broke?
-
oh this is my first test...what do you set your VID's to for the 1-6 thingy i the profiles tab
...im just trying to figure how this all works out.
-
Which processor do you have? My specs are in my sig. 6x at 0.9500V, next two are 0.9625V, next two are 0.9750, finally 11x at 0.9875V.
-
i have the stock one...came with my lappy
uhhh intel core2 duo...according to RM
.

Right click on My Computer and go to Properties. It should say more under Processor. Mine is Core 2 Duo T5550 @ 1.83GHz.
-
I have an Acer Aspire 6920G
Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0 GHz- GeForce 9500M GS (475/950/400)- 250GB
16" LCD - 4GB DDR2-667 - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
My core temp is at 83c during the stress test... uh i guess thats bad.. aint it? -
the lower VID i give the better?...just not too low =P
-
mhmm....mine was like 63c @[email protected] your vents dirty?
-
Just go through the undervolting guide again, slowly. Lower voltages one step at a time. If you hit a BSOD, don't worry! You won't cause any permanent damage or void your warranty.
-
eh, if these work fine then i dont need to undervolt nemore i guess? i dont have much time today =(. so im not going to test everything today maybe next weekend
-
I think it's more GPU related, something because of Nvidia. I had downclocking issu too. People with G84 and G86 had these. These core are also to one that were defective. I got rid of the problem by installing a old driver (november 2007). It was made around the time Nvidia discovered the defective core problem. So I think they made sure it wouldn't happentoo much and added that downclocking "protection". And since now they annonced it and the gpu card were exchanged, maybe they took out that protection. I can now overclock like the old one could. I don't know if the downclocking issue is still here thought. But for what happen inside I don't know.

i just undervolted my CPU and no lag in bf2142 on high settings woot, im going to try thi with cod4 later...
-
do i have to leave RM on for it to undervolt or no?
-
Yes I think.
-
Thats dumb...o well it solved my Lag in my games so im happy with leaving it open =)...
-
RMClock is a great piece of software anyway for controlling CPU speed.
-
i love it =p!!!....would this work for a desktop PC?
-
Yes, it would also work
-
As long as the desktop has a CPU with EIST capability, yes.
any acer aspire 6920g owners undervolt before???
