    aspire 1524 wlmi vs 1691 wlmi

    Hi all,

    I have narrowed down my list of candidates to these two:

    - aspire 1524 wlmi: athlon 64 3400+, 2x256, HDD 80 Gb, GeForce Go 5700 64Mb (1160 €)
    - aspire 1691 wlmi: centrino 730, 2x256, HDD 80 Gb, ATI X600 64 Mb (1160 €)

    I'm gonna use the laptop as a desktop replacement, so mobility and battery life is not the most important. I would trade off battery life for better CPU, so I prefer Athlon64 3400+ than Centrino 730 (am I right?)

    On the graphics card I've read somwhere that ATI X600 is slightly better than GeFore Go 5700. I'm going to use (well ... my kids [ :D]) the laptop for some gaming ... not extremely intesive though.

    So the question is, shall I get the 1524 for the Athlon 64 3400+ or the 1691 for the ATI X600 card??. Any other laptop options are welcome!!
