does anyone else find that the touchpad on the acer aspire 2025 is hard to use, sometimes ceasing to respond for a few seconds? can anyone suggest what i could do to remedy this?

also i am planning on upgrading my acer 2025's hard drive from a 80gb 4200rpm to a >40gb 7200rpm hard drive. does anyone know where i can get a good 7200 rpm, preferrably a site that either ships to the uk or is located in the uk?

The touchpad issue could be an OS/driver/software problem. If you're runing off the original load from Acer and have installed other things, there could be a slight incompatibility. I usually like to reload the OS from scratch, and install just the drivers you need. This usually eliminates a lot of problems regarding compatibility. This is a good time to do a manual reload from scratch since you're about to buy a new HDD.

For the HDD, you can generally buy it from any computer shop these days, not just notebook shops. There's only a few brands that have 7200rpm drives, Hitachi/IBM, Toshiba, Seagate & WD (New to the notebook drive scene). Currently, I think Hitachi/IBM & Toshiba are the only ones you can get at the moment. Everyone seems to like the Hitachi/IBM drives. The warranty should be handled by the manufacturer, so you can buy it from any shop. Where did you get your Acer? You can try going back to that shop for the drive.
