are there no 64bit drivers for the acer aspire 5002? i got winxp pro 64bit edition installed, but i dont have wireless lan, proper video drivers, sound and modem working....

i noticed the ferrari 4000 series have them..... why not the aspire series?

their ftp server dont seem to have them. ftp.support.acer-euro.com

anyone know maybe a place i can get beta drivers or whatever, anything that will just work.

Well, I know the acer 5020 series is supported in x64, and so is the travelmate 4400.

Acer supports the following models in Windows XP Professional x64 Edition:
    Ferrari 3200/3400/4000
    TravelMate 4400 series
    Aspire 5020 series

Sorry, I dont see the 5000.
But if your Acer has the same parts as another acer that is supported under 64, then there's a chance that the drivers could work, not guranteed.

    found this link - http://global.acer.com/support/windows/winxp-professional-x64.htm

so far i'm trying the 5020 drivers. wireless lan installed, but i can't access the gui to connect to a wireless network. also the audio installed, i still need to restart to test it. video card did not install. that is all i have tested so far.

if anyone has maybe a link to non-released and non-supported drivers from acer or the original manufacturer for the individual parts, that would help me.

i just hope they will eventually support ALL their x64 notebook series. otherwise i will be one unhappy dude

ok i just tested the sound now. works fine. wireless lan still doesn't load the gui.
i can do without wireless (i'll just buy a card that support x64). but i need the video drivers to work. anyone got ideas?

i just found this forum post on another site - http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showtopic=8657&st=0&p=104331&#entry104331

so for now it seems that video and audio will work fine. wireless wont. but i read somewhere else that it does work with beta drivers, which will eventually be released.
