    Hi all
    fFrst post here and im after help already, I have a aspire 5100 lap top that seems to have a knackerd cd/dvd drive :mad: can any one advise me on the best place to get a replacement if possable, I am trying to avoid the external drive route if possable,Also if i can get a replacement is it a job i can do myself or will i need to take it to a shop?

    Newegg has some good ones at a good price. I would rather buy from them than Ebay. They are a good company. My CD/DVD drive failed while my Acer 5100 was under warranty. I was able to get Acer to send me a replacement drive at no charge. Make sure you get a Laptop Slim drive.

    Many thanks for your reply Walter, I didn't think to say i am in the UK and cant seem to find a Newegg in UK but ty for your help.Any one know of a firm in the UK i might get one from?
