    aspire 5502Z sound driver for XP does not install

    Hi,

    I recently reinstalled windows xp_sp3 professional on my acer aspire 5502ZNWXCi. I downloaded the audio driver from the acer site for the same model i.e Audio_Conexan_6.13.10.8335_XPx86.zip. I have tried installing it manually using the Setup.exe or by Device manager. But in both cases it fails.

    I am wondering why a valid driver compatible to a particular acer model, available on the site will not install.

    Please help me resolve the issue.

    Hi,

    have you already installed the chipset drivers?
    You may also check Windows Update if there are drivers (very often, there are)

    You mean the PCI modem. I have not been able to install that as well or do you mean vcredist_x86.exe?
