    Hi, i have a 5532.

OS is win 7 ultimate 64
has 4 gig of ram in her

For some reason, i can't seem to play 720p mkv's. Im using VLC with GPU decoding ticked on.

If i open a video, the system boggles down and pretty much crawls. I know the tf-20 is pretty average, but it should play HD video with ease, no?

tf-20 is too weak for many videos. What GPU do you have in that laptop?

Radeon HD 3200 should be able to accelerate some videos, but I've had trouble with it in the past.

If that's as fast as my Thinkpad's L7500 (Core 2 Duo 2x1.6GHz)it sounds okay for some 720p playback. The faster clock speed and more cores the better.
