    hi all,

This is my first post here.

I just bought this laptop, my first one. But I haveno intention in using Vista, so I want to perform a downgrade to Windows XP (some would say it's an upgrade :)).

Along with the laptop came a DVD with drivers for both WinXP and WinVista. I managed to get most of them running, but the audio driver. Can anyone help me with this?

    Thanks in advance!

RealTek site is down now but try later here.
You need Windows XP KB888111 'High Definition Audio Packege' too.

Edit: Site is online again, maybe it was my ISP fault.

if that doesn't work... the easy way to get REALTEK cards to work w/ XP on a lot of acer downgrades is this....

install XP and SP2... no drivers NLITE'd other than the SATA DRIVE
    install REALTEK driver FIRST
then CHIPSET driver then other drivers
    then SP3

that has worked for many people

    Hi, back again,

It seems that work on my laptop isn't quite finished...

I tried to use a wired LAN connection and Windows replies that the cable's not connected. Some thing to do with Broadcom driver?

Also, the lights on the right hand menu (play/pause, stop, backwards and forwards) are always on... Is that normal?

What web cam driver should I install? Chicony or Suyin?

    Thanks in advance... again :)

I have had my 5920 now for a few months and no problems. So why is every one downgrading to xp. All my software also works just fine. There has to be another reason I don't know. Any info please.
