Guys, i wanted your thoughts on purchasing a 6+ Cell battery for the Aspire One 150. The laptop has worked well on its factory default 3Cell batt. for 2 yerars..but now seems to be showing it's age, we can barely get 1.45 min. on battery as opposed 2.45 upto a few months ago (aggressive battery savings).

Now i am happy to ship in a battery from Ebay that would/could be anything more than or equal to a 6Cell

question is do i need to buy a more powerful adaptor (more amp/voltage) than the factory default one...if i were to go to a 6/9 cell battery???

is there a chance the laptop can go belly-up if i try a battery upgrade

the laptop is the D150-0BW, using a battery model # UMO8A31 (the "O" is either an alphabet/numeric) ...following is the ebay search......

The answer is no- no need for a more powerful PSU nor is there any risk of netbook dying because you bought a higher capacity battery (as long as you buy one that is dedicated for AOD150)

    okie dokes

thanks a lot....my only concern for asking this was, that if i buy a bigger battery, would i require a larger (more amps/volts) to charge the battery properly ? cuz i wouldnt want the newer battery to die prematurely as well.

No you wouldn't the PSU is not limiting the battery- it's a lot more powerful than the battery needs to charge.

I just Bought a 6 cell battery directly from Acer website- the total cost with shipping was only about 5 or 10 dollars more than the aftermarket ones. I have a 11.6 inch 751-h aspire one.

    -------------------------
Made my first post before I browsed your ebay link, also didnt realize you were in Au. My cost direct from Acer was appox 70 dollars. I didnt check ebay before buying mine but doing a search now they seem to be much cheaper there.
What I didnt like about ebay was it didnt say if theywere Acer brand batteries or aftermarket. Also the item descriptions had my model # but had 10 inch screen size instead of 11 inch. If they are genuine Acer batteries then the ones on ebay are a great deal!
