    Hi.

I just tried everest on my laptop and i got a shock

battery wear level 66% and i have only had it a month

Everest gives battery capacity levels in MWH.

so i decided to do some research my battey is 14.8v at 4800mah = 71040mwh

I found a webpage telling me how to calculate a battery`s MWH from the voltage and capacity of the battery it turns out to be 71040mwh and everest is saying my battery is 222000mwh - 15,000 mah battery not the 4.800mah that it is.

I think my battery is giving the wrong maximum capacity.

full capacity for my battery is 71040mwh and i am getting 73770mwh so i have less than 0% wear level

    regards

    John.

Use NHC. It is better than the rest out there.

Pretty accurate too. Most of us use it here. Don't stress.

    Hi

just tried NHC it says 66% wear level as well.

It is reading the wrong maximum capaity, the same as everest.

    regards

    John.

    FWIW John do the following:

    1. Run your lappie on battery power only until it shuts off. Battery should be completly drained then.
    2. Let the battery charge overnight for at least 14 hours.
    3. Check and report back here

    Cheers,
    Theo

    Hi.

I always do that with any new laptop battery.

I dont think the battery is faulty, it`s either giving out the wrong maximum capaity or it`s being read wrong.

I have calculated the battey mwh capacity myself and i am getting over 100% capaity.

    regards

    John.

I don't know that it will be useful, but you should try discharging the battery after approximately 25-30 charging cycle between 10-20% charge level. If you repeat this a couple of times, maybe it would help the battery to be more accurate in sensing its capacity, and discharge state.

    Hi.

the reason as i have stated above is that the battey is reading as an 15000mah battery when it is only a 4800mah battery, that`s why i am getting a 66% wear level.

I have read that everest and nhc, use the same way to read a battery, and they are both getting it wrong.

it`s nothing to do with running in a battery.

this battery has a -0% wear level as far as i can tell.

    regards

    John.
