    which one do you guys recommend? im using the factory one and i bought the laptop in 2008.

    if its worked fine since then, you dont need to change it really

    I flashed the newer version a few months back but haven't noticed any benefit.

    Read the changelog and see if there are any changes worth having (to you). If there aren't any then there is usually no reason to upgrade. However, sometimes manufacturers change fan profiles etc but those changes are not stated. You could try updating if you want the newest stuff.
