    Hey,

what drivers do you think bring the most power out of your gpu while gaming?
i'm currently using 186.03 just because they're the latest.

    regards

I guess the one you're using is the BEST currently.
I am not sure about DOX's latest forceware release.
Do some overclock, the result might be much better.
My current overclock(see my signature). After I got my cooler, I plan to overclock more. XD!

wow thanks for the benchmark. btw, i've noticed that aero performance of WEI decreased by 0.1 (from 4.6 to 4.5), why is that?

It doesn't matter. Don't use WEI at all since they aren't reliable indicators of performance. 186.03 is the best as TehSuigi said, so don't worry about your drivers.

    Hi all,
Those drivers are not compatible with the ACER EMPOWER MANAGEMENT.
When I launch the profile editor by clicking on the battery, ACER EMPOWER MANAGEMENT craches and I can't acess to manage my profiles. I noticed that all games and 3d softwares are runnind as if the performance button is at lowest level. I tried everything also re installing old empoering softwares but it was impossible to make them works. So I have installed the official nvidia drivers by ACER wich are the 175.61. but with this one some games are not working.
    Any Idea?
    my configuration :
    Acer 8920G
Original Windows Vista Ultimate 64bits French
    4Go RAM.
    thank you all.

Uninstall Acer ePower Management and uses Windows Power Option(in the control panel). VOILA!

Exactly - Acer ePower is more or less a useless front-end for what Windows Vista does normally. Ditch it.

    Hi all,

I saw no equivalent option in the windows vista tool.
The cursor I have in Acer power management is (I translate cause I have the french version) : "graphic power mode" and it has 2 options, "lowest" or "highest". I think it's a king of power saving by "lowering" the graphic card voltage. I found no such option in the vista tool. and when I installed the latest drivers of nvidia, I had no access to this option and I noticed that my 3D applications and games are acting exactly the same way when I have official nvidia drivers by ACER with the power option set on the "lowest position". It' really a problem cause I need latest nvidia drivers.

I would really appreciate if you have a solution that could help me setting this power saving option and the LCD power option under the vista tools so I could remove the acer tools and install the 186.03.

    Thank you very muh.

My dear. Your Nvidia Geforce 9500M GS came with a thing called PowerMizer.
PowerMizer would slowdown your GPU speed while you're not using it such as gaming or 3D rendering automatically(maximal your GPU speed while gaming or 3D rendering of course). So, your battery can last longer.
So, get rid of Acer ePower Management and go to your lovely Control Panel > Power Option > Select Maximal Performance(edit the profiles as you like)

DarkSilver took the words out of my mouth - Acer ePower was only controlling Nvidia's PowerMizer technology to downclock the GPU when on battery or not in use.
With Acer ePower uninstalled and the new drivers installed, Windows Vista should be able to take control of Nvidia PowerMizer itself - Balanced and High Performance plans should give full GPU speed, while Power Saver should reduce it.

    Hi,
Thank you. I'll try this as soon as I can and will tell you if I notice any performance gain.

Not better so much as different. Dox customizes the drivers for performance, so they can muck up some systems in rare cases.
Give 'em a spin if you want.
