This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    my acer aspire 3000 laptop keeps freezing and the mouse and keyboard stop if i go on safe mode everything works fine

    if i put an external mouse in it only works for awhile then it stops as well

    anyone have any clues how to fix

    im running win xp and have spy bot and anti virus running

    it is like it is surching for something

    I would try to update the drivers or reinstall them if need be. Did you add any new software that could have caused this? If it works fine in safe mode then I'd blame software first.
