Would you mind telling where did you get the 3.805 from ?

I only see 3.708 and its about time for a new bios .

EDIT : nm , I see its now in the acer website .

I hope it solves 8600GT issue and maybe allows for some fan control ?

Thank you so much :D i appreciated

Second of all i got them from the acer euro site
    http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html

btw i recommend you be aware i just installed them and my wireless isnt working anymore since i installed them. I am at work right now so when i get home i will look if i will have to degrade. BTW if anyone has seen this post any issues with it with the wireless? Gilo reply if you may please if you have the same issue as i did losing the wireless connection.

I have the exact same error but no solution seems to work for me.

    I am using vista x64
Right click and "run as admin" does not work
Logging in with the Admin account gives same error.
With admin account and right click and "run as admin" does not work also
Run in compatibility does not also work.

    Any suggestions please?

I dunno what's going on, but after bios flashing, i still can use wireless. Did you try updating/reinstalling the wifi driver?
Anyways, do you all with these problems run x64 os? It's possible that incompatibility causes the issue.

Nope I am using x32 op. system, I changed Windows XP on my 5920g (there are some softwares what still havent Vista support). Everything went fine until I tried to use my wireless card. When I am trying to use it I can NOT get constant connection, because the connections drops all the time. Sometimes only the connection drops, sometimes it says there is no wireless device in your system. Sometimes I have to restart my laptop, sometimes it reappears by itself. Its total random and I am going crazy during my work, because my wired acces to the network is limited.

I found a solution in one of the archive topic that says, try to set Maximum Performance on battery in Wireless Adapter Settings > Power Saving Mode in Device Manager.

Just a remark: I could not find exactly the same option in the settings, I found Power Managment instead, probably its the same, but probably its something different, I dont know.

So I have already done that, it worked for an hour or two and my problem occured again. Does anybody have any solution for my problem?

Probably a BIOS degrage would help?

Some details about my hardware/software in use:

Acer Aspire 5920G - Up to date Windows XP Professional
BIOS - 3805 official from ACER (newest)
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection - Intel provided driver v11.5.0.32 date: 26/09/2007 (newest)

Any new information/solution/tip would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Best regards:
    bANDYka

Sorry I missinformed you when I am wrote that I have 3805 BIOS. I had the previous version 3708 and just upgraded to 3805 (01/02/2008). I've been using now my laptop for around 2 hours and no problems are detected with wireless so far.

Probabaly you are a bit confused now, because in the previously post, you are adviced to degrade your BIOS and now I am telling you to upgrade it, but maybe the problem only occurs when you are using BIOS version 3708 (like in my case).

Its not working because its a 64 bit OS, that version of SWinFlash is 32 bit only, the 64 bit equivalent is WinPFlash or something like that. Unfortunatley it doesnt work with the Acer BIOS updates.

There is a way around this though :)

    See http://digitalmediaphile.wordpress.com/2007/10/25/updating-acer-ferrari-x64-ultimate-with-new-bios/

You can do that, or as i did because i had a blank cdr lying around and my memory stick with my iso of XP SP2, was to get BartPE and create a cd which is basically the same as doing it via the Vista installation cd.

    All ok now :)

Sorry to post again but i am still looking for a 5920 user with Vista x64 to tell me if he was able to upgrade the bios. Seems that the program tries to install a driver and it cannot be installed on x64 systems. But i am not very positive on it.

I have emailed Acer about it and i will post back if i get a reply.

Read my post right above you....SWinFlash isnt x64 capable. You need to boot into a 32 bit enviroment and update within there...i.e Windows 32 Bit Install DVD Win PE or BartPE

Ok, well i have a 4965AGN, so possibly it is a 3945-related issue. Hopely acer or intel will make steps soon to resolve your problem :)
