I've seen some references around the web saying that you can bios mod an Acer 5251 to have it's GPU be recognized as a 4290 instead of the OOTB 4250. I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do this though. If anybody know how, can you please share? I inherited one of these low end Aspire's and have gone about upgrading it to something that can be used as a daily driver (memory has been upgraded from 2 to 8GB, CPU has been upgraded from a V120 to X920, & HD upgraded from the 250GB to 1TB 7200rpm). Even if it's a tiny gain, it'd be nice to have the laptop setup to run as fast as it possibly can...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
