Hello, I tried the bios from http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...machine-acer-aspire-9420-a-6.html#post6131976
The problem is that on boot I see only some lines. Perhaps the problem is that video bios is upgraded. I can't post in that thread because it is closed and can't contact bob with a private message. I was wondering if he can provide a bios with the original video bios. Any way I can contact the user or can moderators unclose the thread?
Fortunately machine is still bootable and I see everything ok when OS switches to VESA mode but I really need the vtx enabled.

Very strange, I just wrote a reply to the thread and upon clicking post it became closed again. Here is the message I tried to post:
bob (or anybody else that can help), I tried this BIOS on my 5610z and at least machine didn't not die (I can't test the additional fetures). The problem is that on boot (before the OS changes video mode to VESA or something else) I see only lines on the screen. Spots of the screen become black over time. It's like the screen is not capable of displaying whatever video mode BIOS sets.
I think the problem is not the intel video bios (oprom3) because I extracted this oprom from the original v3.60 bios and replaced it in v3.66 (I used instructions from http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...machine-acer-aspire-9420-a-2.html#post6119422 ). It still shows the lines. I downgraded to the original 3.60 and now everything works fine.
So my question is what changes could have caused that in 3.66 and how can I revert them so I can benefit from the other improvements in 3.66?
Thank you!
P.S. I started a new thread about this problem so replies may go there: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acer/655641-bios-upgrade-problem-5610z.html#post8426221Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015
