I got my first laptop a Acer Aspire 1681 WLMi. I am just having problems when I watch movies after a minute the screen goes black and I have to knock the mouse to get the movie back. I thought it might be the screen saver but it wasn't. Any ideas?

It should be your Power Management settings either in the BIOS or in the Control Panel. It's probably set to turn off the LCD after a bit. Just goto the Control Panel and under Power Options you can make your changes. The DVD software should also have an option to stop the screen from going black (at least in PowerDVD).

That is definitely the issue. Many movie players switch the power management automatically when they;re in use, WinDVD does this. However, sometimes it doesn't switch back, so watch for that as well. Control Panel --> Power Settings
