    ok these are pics of my screen hopefully u can see them... the bottom right corner is growing upwards :mad: an is blue on edges :confused: an black it will turn next time i turn it on :eek: and across the bottom i have white dash like lines that go side 2 side... :confused: any ideas or repairs i can do??? :D PLZ HELP


    i tried to upload pics but it says entinty is to large? :rolleyes:

    Yes the LCD looks to have been physically damaged and there is no way to repair an LCD, however you can replace it.

    Yup, that sure looks like pressure damage. The screen cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced. Or you can live with it since the damage is only on a small portion (screens are expensive). Btw, your avatar is way too WHITE. Turn the camera flash down next time. :)

    Agreed- LCD needs replacement although it's not a notebook screen but a 17" desktop screen. You may decide to RMA it if it's still covered by warranty, replace the LCD if it's not or simply buy a new one when you see an interesting LCD screen on sale.

    An The Spots Are Growing In Size(Why do they grow????) You Can Put The Mouse In That Area An Its Underneith The Blotchs , The Spots Seem 2 Be On Top Of Windows That Are Open, So I Can See What Underniether The Spots Till It Goes Black,,, My Grandaughter Stuck A Few Magnets On Side Of Tower When I Seen Them I Emmeaditely Removed Them , Could That B What Caused It? The Lines Are So Perfect Across The Bottom I Know Thats Not From Wiping Screen? I Just Noticed Rote Now As I Typing That The Only Bottom Left Corner Didnt Have This But Now I Can See A Little Bit Of Corner Is Startin A Black Moon Shape In That Corner... Once Again ... (thank You Every One) An Ty 4 The Email Removal

    No, it has nothing to do with the magnets. The screen was damaged by pressure. I had one like that myself, with the exact same symptoms and appearance - you can, to some degree, see underneath the blotches.

    A virus can not do this, but it can't 'grow' unless you are pushing it. But, from your posts I can see you're not.. I'm also starting to think, a virus? :D This bars also show up in BIOS, right?

    That happens- once LCD gets damaged these spills can get bigger on their own especially near the borders where the bezel puts some pressure on them.
    Time to say good bye to the old one and go for a good buy ;)

    Basically anything that's within your budget and is made by a respectable company should be OK if we're talking typical usage scenario.
    I would avoid glossy LCDs- but that's more of a personal preference.

    ok TY all once again now I know this is a laptop site notebook ect...ok computer ppl... hit me with a list an what are good 4 my doings
    i mainly do all the bands websites , music, gig posts ect... but I like to play animated hidden objects games( if these were a drug..Id be an addict) yes im addicted like no tomarrow...love my big fish account(800.00) WORTH OF GAMES IN LESS THAN A YEAR LOLOL OK SO WHAT WOULD YALL ADVISE 4 THINGS THAT I LIKE..Cuz we all know that the kids selling them at the store go DUHHH when u ask about the computer except i know the memory an what system it runs on...lololo ty all once again 4 being so VERY HELPFULL... i send u all flowers ..tada..jk have a wounderful friday evening off to the gig...

    I would look at mostly a high contrast ratio, size and resolution. You don't need it to be fast.

    The big question is, is it worth to buy a new LCD or is it cheaper to pick off a new laptop?

    As I pointed out earlier it's not a laptop and as a desktop-related thread it has to be closed.

    @ marshafaith606d Go visit a local mall and buy an LCD screen that is on display (so you can see the colors and contrast) and is within budget. Don't buy anything from a company you've never heard of.
