Use clockgen/setfsb to oc the cpu...and rivatuner/atitools to oc the gpu.

I can't overclock my Acer 5051 with anything other than WinClk and that only works on the Core Clock of the x1100 since I'd have to overclock the RAM for the Hypermemory.

ATI Tools refuses to do anything other than Artifact Testing or if I use a version other than the one with the Omega Driver, it gives me a BSOD!
Clockgen and Setfsb don't work, since neither has the PLL for the Laptop and I can't find the PLL on the net.

So, the only thing I could overclock was the graphics card core speed, I raised it from 300Mhz to 400Mhz, I could probably go up to 450 or so, but I don't want things to overheat when temperatures rise in summer. Still got me from 660 to 751 in Futuremark 2006.

Yeah cuz you have an integrated gpu, so Atitool and rivatuner don't support that.

Any notebook processor can be overclocked, however I would suggest you research and learn the risk of overclocking before you attempt to do it.

Overclocking leads to increased heat generation (which is the enemy of notebook components), less battery time and in rare cases you could actually cause physical harm to you notebook. But if you are like adinu and have learned the trick of overclocking and undervolting at the same time :D then you have found the holy grail. (I only undervolt for now :) )

Just remember notebooks do not have the cooling potential of a desktop be careful how much you up the clock speed...

You have the same processor as me and adinu :p , and I have overclocked this to 2ghz already but it wasn't stable at that speed so I turned it down a few clicks to 1.8ghz, got tired of it so I eventually went back to stock speed...

You answer is in this very thread, 6 posts up:

That's as far as I can help you. While you may have the same cpu as myself and evolution, you have a different laptop with a most likely different motherboard. Thus we cannot tell you exactly what you have to do to OC because you have different hardware (mobo).

    But try those 2 programs.

That's exactly what happened to me. I went up to the stock 1.075 voltage and it was still unstable at 2GHz. But at 1.8GHz I can run it fine at 0.975 volts. I figured for and extra 200MHz it's not worth the extra heat and whatnot to keep it stable.

There is only one version of clockgen for all modern processors the difference comes when using clockgen, you need to know what is the PLL of your motherboard family is inorder to use clockgen.

If you don't know what that number is then clockgen is useless to you. Therefore if you can find the PLL for your acer 5630 (perhaps use google) then you can overclock your processor.

I own exactly the same pc and i'm facing the same problem. I've tried almost every tool/program. WINCLK gives me an eror called ''abnormal program termination''. Only clockgen or softfsb might work like you said but i can't find the pll on the internet.
