Hi Number1Redhead, and welcome to the forums.
Celerons are rarely dual-core CPUs, and the ones that are state so clearly in their name.
The Celeron 550 is a single-core CPU at 2.0 GHz.

There is already a thread detailing exactly how to upgrade your 5315 to a dual-core CPU. Have a read here, or check the stickied Resource thread.

Also, in the future, please be patient when asking for a response. There's no need to post multiple topics asking the same thing.

No. Celerons are the cheap cost saving offering.
Dual core is the expensive, performance baby.

Easy question to answer. Thanks

Rather buy a dual core. And forget about replacing CPU's etc. Enjoy the computer....etc. And work on it.

One day when you feel confident enough to fiddle...come back here. Loads of people will try and help you.

    Have fun :)

it's very easy, the only tricky step is flashing the bios.
after, you just need to open and to have thermal paste
